James Davis, Jr., originally from Bridgeport, Connecticut.  Moved to Durham, NC in August of 1996.  James is married to Arnice Davis and they have three children.  James started the police academy with The Durham Police Department in August of 1998.  James worked for Duham Police Department assigned to District 3B Patrol Division.  During his time employed with Durham Police Department he was requested to work undercover with their Criminial Investigation Division.  James later found his way to Franklin County in November 2001 and worked for The Franklin County Sheriff's Office.  Here James worked in various positions over the 14 years with The Franklin County Sheriff's Office as Deputy-Sheriff of Patrol, Narcotics Agent, Criminal Investigator, Corporal on Patrol and Sergeant of Patrol Division.  James was also assigned to The Franklin County Tactical Team for over 12 years as a SWAT Operator for high risk search warrants.  In August of 2016, James joined The Franklinton Police Department where he was assigned as the School Resource Officer at Franklinton Middle School.  James worked in that capacity until July 20,2020 where he took over as Interim Chief of Police for the Town of Franklinton.  Five months later at The Town Commissioner's meeting on December 15, 2020, James was named the Permanent Chief of Police.  Chief Davis strives on a good communication and relationships with the citizens of Franklinton.  Chief Davis also strives with hiring qualified officers who want to grow professionally with the Town of Franklinton, NC.
