WELCOME!
Welcome to the Town of Franklinton! As a resident within the Town limits, you have access to waste utility services directly through the town, which includes waste, recycling, bulk pickup, and some green waste/brush pickup.
To sign-up for the service, please verify that your address would be under our management by using this link filling in your address. The site will tell you if you sign up with GFL directly or with "your Municipality" which is The Town of Franklinton. This site is not 100% accurate, but it is a good check before you fill out our garbage application here.

Regular Garbage Service
We contract with GFL to service trash and recycling. Town residents scheduled service day is Friday's with recycling service every other Friday depending on your address. Please see recycling map for your service week. Schedule exceptions for holidays will be communicated via our social media and direct message. We recommend having your trash cans out Thursday night as some routes start early.
Green Waste/Brush Service
We also provide green waste/brush pickup service on Thursdays. If you collect and gather the waste yourself (instead of using a contractor) and put it near the curb Wednesday evening.
Loose leaves do not need to be bagged during the months of October-March (Fall-Winter). On March 1 (Spring - Summer), leaves and smaller brush must be bagged to ensure pickup.

Bulk Waste Service
The Town also provides bulk waste pickup which includes any large items such as furniture, appliances, and other household items. These pickups must be scheduled in advance by calling Town Hall at 919-494-2520. Please note that we cannot take electronics, like TVs, computers, microwaves, or hazardous waste materials, such as oil or paint or other chemicals. This service is scheduled for Friday's, so please have your items out Thursday night.
Billing Info
The garbage bills will be mailed out on the 1st of the month and are due by the 20th of the month. If not paid by the due date, a $15 late charge will be applied to your account. If not paid by the end of the billing month your cans will be picked up and a $25.00 fee will be applied to your account and all charges will need to be paid to have them returned.
